    i havnt trained, i can do 59 with ''good form'' like he did in the video and arround 45 army push up, aka your elbows have to touch your torso so your arms are like paralel to you, getting down enough to touch the ground with your nose and fully extending elbows in the way up

    yeah first of all he didnt do army push ups, aka putting your arms paralel to your body elbows touching the torso, and also his form was horrible, plus, hes skinny wich even if hes avarage gives him and advantage, even with that hes clearly more fit than avarage theres just alot wrong with the video. if you watch the start of the video you can see the counter is sped up relative to the push ups he does about 25 then if you divide that in two beecause of the horrible form thats arround 12 or 13 wich is something that could be considered avarage

    I may just be one of those guys that actually thought it was normal to do pushups everyday, been doing pushups since i was 11 and my max is 130. Havent tried pushing for higher but propably could do 140 max and no more than that

    Honestly there's nothing fancy with pushups, just focus on form and do a certain amount each day, try to increase your rep range every 2 weeks or so. Things like negatives and fancy archer pushups are useless.

    He must've been doing push ups since before starting this challenge, as it would've been impossible for him to workout so hard the first few days non-stop. When I don't do push ups for about a week, as soon as I start again, the next 3-4 days my chest and arms are very sore and I wouldn't imagine working those muscles hard in that state. Also, the counter is sped up at the beginning and he didn't do 49 (half) push ups...all this looks kinda fishy tbh.

    As other people have commented if you slow the video he only does around 25 at the start and I'd say only 16 of them are proper pushups. The weird thing is his set of 44 at the end is pretty good, so I don't know why he inflated the first set. I've been doing his routine exactly as he describes it and tomorrow is day 5 for me. It's absolutely brutal and I'm pretty fit (though out of practice with push ups). I'm annoyed to think that he might be only doing some part of his daily routine. I'm going to do it all anyway, but I don't see the point in hyping it up, he should just be upfront about exactly what he did.

    People don't understand how much more difficult basic pushups can be with a almost full range of motion eccentrically and concentrically. Imagine what long armed guys like myself go through, lol. Pushups had almost limitless potential if you're patient with the process and incorporate variations to bring about continued strength and conditioning.

    Push ups are a huge tricep dominant workout. Shoulders are OK but they should not rely on the muscles over triceps. I can do 75 push ups in 2 minutes and in a quick 10s movement I can do 17. I train triceps over shoulders for push ups and that was my progress I made.

    It seems most people are fixated on their total number, and I was too when I started many years ago, but the emphasis should be on good form with the elbows tucked in instead of flared out, going all the way up and down, etc. If you are doing them right and still do a whole bunch of consecutive push ups for a couple of minutes then you need to start eating more. It's best to keep the time under tension in about the 45-60 or so second range, so it's best to weigh enough to reach temporary muscular failure in that time range. I was focused on getting to 100 and beyond, but I eventually learned that I should have been more focused on gaining weight to keep the reps down. Of course you should do exercises for the rest of the body also, as you want to gain mostly muscle throughout the body, not a bunch of fat lol.

    Well I'll be damned you're right! By my estimations he did 16 proper pushups. I don't understand why he'd pretend he did more when the ones he does at the end were all good. It's weird, surely you'd be happy to show all the improvement? I'm on day 4 of doing his routine. It's utterly brutal. It annoys me to think that he's listing all these targets, but may be only partly doing them. Well whatever, I'm going to keep doing it anyway.
